The Visconti Van Gogh collection

This Visconti Van Gogh series is the second edition dedicated to the great Dutch painter.

The first series, with a round cross-section and available in three sizes (Maxi, Midi, and Mini), was made with a mixture of natural resins and vegetable components: launched in the late 1990s, it was discontinued in 2008 after ten years of great success.

The second Van Gogh series was launched in 2011 with a completely renewed identity. Its success was immediate, thanks to three distinctive elements: the regular size suitable for any hand, the extraordinary colors - mixed and striated, inspired by Van Gogh's brushstrokes and palette - and above all, the faceted 18-sided shape on the barrel and cap, a geometry never before seen in the world of fine pens.

The magnetic closure was also introduced: simple, silent, and effective. Not only does it reduce the effort needed to open it, but the system was also designed to facilitate closing, making it optimal for anyone - even the most absent-minded - and eliminating the risk of accidents typical of poorly closed screw pens.

For the Van Gogh series, Visconti selected the master's most representative paintings and developed original color formulas to achieve a rendering that recalled his brushstrokes, the light, and shadows of his works.

Each Van Gogh model is inspired by a specific painting.
The Starry Night recalls the night and stars of the famous painting The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh with its deep blue base and splashes of yellow-orange light running along the barrel and cap.

The starry night

The Starry Night was painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889 during his stay at the psychiatric hospital of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the south of France.
The work depicts a nocturnal landscape dominated by a swirling sky, with bright stars and a large moon, above a silent village and a imposing cypress tree in the foreground.
Through dynamic brushstrokes, undulating lines, and intense colors, Van Gogh transforms nature into an emotional and almost spiritual vision, where the sky appears alive and in constant motion.
The painting is today considered one of the absolute symbols of modern art.
