On September 19, 1783, in the presence of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette and before a crowd of thousands of astonished spectators, the Montgolfier brothers inaugurated a new era of extraordinary achievements, raising a blue hot air balloon over Versailles.

Montegrappa Montgolfier, from the Avanguardia series, celebrates the enlightened genius of those who redefined the boundaries of possibility with a limited edition in sterling silver sculpted with lost-wax microfusion and vermeil finishes.

The structure of the ball and its ornaments are reinterpreted with philological meticulousness, in an extraordinary homage to the aesthetics and encyclopedic spirit of the time.
Among the vermeil decorations on the barrel, made of sky-blue resin, stands out an eagle with outstretched wings, a symbol of royal patronage. The faceted silver caseback is finely guilloché-engraved to recall the woven basket motif of a hot air balloon.
The dome of the hood is shaped like a hot air balloon

Under the dome of the hood, bordered by a decorative drapery, the zodiac signs surround a lion medallion: a symbol of strength, courage, and the triumph of reason over nature by the Enlightenment.
The sculpted clip, crafted using micro-casting, echoes the coiled cord of early hot air balloons, connecting earth and sky, tradition and innovation.
The central band, decorated with guilloché diamonds, features the Montegrappa coat of arms.

Each pen is accompanied by a blue case with a lacquered display stand.
