The "L'Arma di Calliope" collection is a tribute to the Carabinieri Corps, celebrating the grandeur and importance of this long-standing Italian institution, with which Marlen collaborated to create this exclusive series of writing instruments.
Calliope was the muse of epic poetry in Greek mythology. The "L'Arma di Calliope Slim" collection features the colors and emblems of the Carabinieri Corps: the barrel and cap of the collection are crafted from precious black Italian resin with blue veins, turned from solid bar. The central band is decorated with the Carabinieri crest and the Italian Republic crest.
The solid silver clip bears the symbol of the Flame, the emblem of the Carabinieri.
The Carabinieri Emblem
The Carabinieri coat of arms features a silver cross dividing a red shield: in the quadrants we find, alternating:
a hand grasping a serpent, representing prudence and determination;
and a flaming grenade, also present on headgear, symbolizing martial spirit and its origins as an elite troop.
The flaming grenade is also set into the clip.
At the top of the shield is a golden lion, a symbol of strength and courage; and above, a turreted crown.
The scroll at the bottom bears the Carabinieri motto: "Nei secoli fedele" (Faithful through the centuries).
