Marlen Vitis Doc 40 - Prestige model

The Marlen Vitis Doc 40 Prestige pays tribute to wine culture with premium materials and artisanal craftsmanship.
The Italian resin body is embellished with a wide 925 sterling silver band, engraved with a grape cluster motif: a nod to winemaking tradition that gives the pen an unmistakable personality.

What makes it even more unique is the filling system: a dedicated mechanism with a button to be inserted into a hole carved into the silver band. An ingenious detail that integrates functionality and design—typical of Marlen’s search for original solutions.

Materials and nib

It is made of Italian resin with a 925 sterling silver band and a steel nib in Fine, Medium, or Broad points. The Roller version uses P5888 refills.

How to fill the pen

  1. Unscrew the black resin blind cap located at the end of the barrel.
  2. Extract the filling button housed inside.
  3. Insert the button into the hole provided on the back of the silver band.
  4. Press and release slowly to fill the ink reservoir.

The solid silver band, engraved with a grape cluster motif, is not just a decorative element: it integrates the filling mechanism.

The name Vitis

The name Vitis evokes the botanical genus Vitis. It includes the common grapevine, Vitis vinifera, the plant from which wine grapes originate. This is no random connection: Italy has one of the oldest winemaking traditions in the world. Hundreds of native grape varieties tell the stories of different territories and cultures, from north to south.

Two interpretations of the same collection

This collection has been produced in two versions: the Prestige, more substantial, with a lateral compression filling system; the Elegance, slimmer, with a cartridge or converter filling system.

This model is part of the Marlen production, an Italian brand known for artisanal fountain pens. Premium materials and original filling mechanisms are its hallmark, designed for those who seek the same pleasure from writing as they do from a good glass of wine.

The Marlen Vitis Doc 40 was produced in two versions: Prestige and Elegance.

The Prestige model features a side-lever filling system and is more substantial; the Elegance model is slimmer and uses a cartridge/converter filling system.

How to charge the Vitis Doc 40 Prestige

1. Unscrew the blind cap: remove the black resin end cap, located at the end of the barrel.

2. Extract the button: pull out the filling button housed inside.

3. Insert the button: place it into the designated hole on the back of the silver decorative band, on the barrel of the pen.

4. Press and release slowly to fill the ink reservoir.

The large solid silver band, engraved with a grape cluster motif, is not just a decorative element: it integrates the unique filling mechanism of the Vitis.
