New central band
Since the beginning of 2008, the central band in gold or chrome metal has changed design, and since then all Optimas have been produced with the new band: the Aurora brand name and a Greek key bordering it above and below.
What is Auroloide?
Auroloid is a plastic material, similar to celluloid, used by Aurora to make its Optima line of fountain pens. It was chosen for its brilliance, aesthetics, and durability, combining the qualities of celluloid with those of modern resins.
In practice, auroloid offers the vintage look of celluloid with greater durability.
